"In 2016 our country club engaged Michael Kuhn & Associates as our irrigation consultant to design, manage and supervise the installation of our new 1600 head irrigation system and a new pump station and well. It was an extremely successful and effective partnership. Mike designed a full coverage system, highly automated, employing the latest digital technology as well as a state-of-the-art pump station.


Early in the process we researched a number of golf course irrigation consultants. We interviewed, in person, three consultants. Mike stood out. His product, industry knowledge and relevant experiences were second to none. Most impressive, and critical to our requirements Mike was clearly committed to being our partner, in working with us as our consultant, to deliver the best irrigation system possible for a reasonable cost. Mike took charge right from the get-go. He provided us a sophisticated, state of the art, yet non-complex solution. Mike led us through the design process, the competitive bid process and helped us select the manufacturer and the installation contractor.


Mike was frequently on site. Laying out the line routings, placing the heads, advising on pump station location and needs and overseeing and critiquing the installation process. When we had our status meetings with the manufacturer, contractor and our greens superintendent Mike was always the “most knowledgeable” person in the room. He would lead the parties to a fair and equitable resolution to each and every issue/challenge we faced.


Mike is knowledgeable, forceful, speaks his mind, and yet was also sensitive to our clubs’ constraints whether they be time, schedule, or budget.


In construction projects of this magnitude, you are going to run into unforeseen issues and challenges. This is where Mike clearly stood out. He was on top of each issue and built a successful resolution with the vendor, contractor, and the club. His efforts in problem resolution were truly outstanding. Our membership and club management are very appreciative of how Mike managed the disruption to our golf course during the entire installation. Even in the heart of the irrigation system installation we were able to keep the golf course open for member play with only minimal interruption.
